Vinko Globokar - Hallo, Do You Hear Me? (1994)

"Despite the characteristic skepticism that British audiences reserve for musicians who cultivate more than one discipline, Vinko Globokar can be considered a phenomenon. Yet reasons can be adduced for his remarkable versatility. His jazz background has proved invaluable in his collaborations with exponents of free jazz and other improvising collectives. Improvisation has also been used as an educational tool. His close ties with Austro-German, French and Italian composition have given him significant insights into their historical development. Finally, his Slavonic origins have given him a unique view of the Western tradition, while heightening his awareness of various cultural, political and social problems, notably exile and alienation."

"An amazing compilation of four vivid, powerful and incredible pieces, with an whimsical mixed musical character, somewhere in between traditional academic music and subversive experimentalism. An awkward sound voyage through the performance of extraordinary musicians and astonishing compositions." ~Ludwig Vanessa

Globokar! There's a name you don't hear enough as far as I'm concerned. As Anthony Braxton once said to me, "Vinko Globoakr! Yes! Do you know there are graduate composition majors who have never heard of Vinko Globokar? It's a crime."

I couldn't care less about braxton's opinions... This is probably the most boring piece of music I heard in recent years... very, very, very boring...

mona lisa - Instead of defining my comment as obsolete and boring it would be better if you had simply defended the record and maybe expose the reasons why you enjoy it so much, assuming that you enjoy it at all and not simply approve of it as an intellectual or pseudo-intellectual statement. Blogs like this one usually welcome comments and if only positive comments are accepted I see no reason fr commenting. Let me repeat that I found this extremely boring, plain, lifeless, dull, and slightly depressing for these reasons. I do not recommend it, although I'm a big fan of other musicians posted here at bravojuju and (surprise!) at your own den. So you better learn how to live with divergent opinions.

It can't work as a matter of fact, that's what I suppose.

If you are residing in Kroatia then you automatically become a tax resident, and you have to pay taxes on your income earned from worldwide in addition to paying tax on the income earned in Kroatia. Unemployment has hit 10.2 percent the highest since 1983, 16 million American are jobless and stocks dropped points early Friday morning. They conduct many aptitude tests which helps us realize our capability.
